Responsibilities:
Senior Pastor of The Rock Church Coastal Hills in north San Diego.

My Passion:
I am passionate about worship and recognize the utmost value and responsibility of leading people into His presence.  People have goals, longings, and aspirations in life, but the most fulfilling and satisfying experience of all is to be in His presence.  The psalmist said that he was abundantly satisfied with the fullness of God’s house (psalm 36:8). I’ve been leading worship for many years now,  and I’ve seen people make the necessary directional changes , experience the love and comfort of the Holy Spirit, receive healing and forgiveness, and have hardness of heart removed as a direct result of God’s presence due to heartfelt worship.  I’m longing for the day when God’s people will long for the presence of God above all else.  The exciting news is God’s people are moving that direction.

“One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.” – Psalm 27:4

Background:
My wife Dionne and I were born in New Mexico, and we have two children. I was born again at age 18 in 1984.  My dream was to be a professional baseball player, but God had other plans.  I sensed God calling me to ministry, so I left for bible school and graduated in 1989.  Shortly after, I began to pastor Singles and College and Career ministries and lead worship.

When I was 21 I started singing and playing the piano.  I’ve been leading worship and writing songs for over 20 years.  During those years my wife and I have been incredibly blessed to travel to many different states in the U.S and lead worship.  We have served as worship leaders at Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque under Pastor Skip Heitzig, Faith Christian Family Church with Pastor Dave Swann, and in 2003 we were called to The Rock Church and World Outreach Center under Pastor Jim Cobrae.

I have a degree in Respiratory Therapy.  In the medical field I worked ER and intensive care units for over 12 years before going into the ministry full-time. 

Favorite Hobbies:
Spending time with my wife and kids, songwriting and leading worship, teaching the Word, seeing decisions for Christ.
