What are the services like?
We endeavor to be a modern, relevant church. That means that you can expect contemporary music, a passionate message, and at every service there is an opportunity to receive Jesus as your personal savior. Each service lasts for 1 hour and 15 minutes, you can expect them to start and end on time. In addition, the Pastors meet the first-time visitors after each weekend service.
What about my children?
The Rock is a family church, meaning that your whole family is welcome here. And no matter your age, we have a service for you. We have an incredible Children’s Ministry, a clean, safe place for your children with a message, music, and games all designed to teach them more about God, while having fun with other people their age.
And for your teenagers, we have the world’s most exciting Youth Ministry, for Jr. High and High Schoolers. They’ll hear a relevant message designed for students, worship lead by their peers, and they’ll have an opportunity to connect with others their age in a safe and Christian environment.
We happen to think we have the best children’s and youth ministries on the planet, and after you check it out, we’re sure you’ll agree.
How should I dress?
What should you wear to a service at The Rock? We say come as you are. One week Pastor Jim might wear a suit; the next he might wear jeans and sneakers. The point is to not get too hung up on it; just dress however you feel comfortable. We are a very diverse church, and during any given service you will see people dressed in a wide variety of ways. Chances are that no matter how you’re dressed, there will be someone in our church dressed like you.
How do I find The Rock?
The Rock Church is in San Bernardino, CA, where the 10 and 215 freeways meet.
Where do I go?
There is parking on all sides of the church campus, but If you have kids, you may want to park in the north parking lot, close to the Children’s Check-In. After service, you can get something to eat at Cuca’s Mexican Food located next to our outdoor plaza and browse the Love Rock Bookstore located next door. If you need more information about anything going on at The Rock, or need help finding something, our friendly volunteers at the Information Center are available to help you.
What is the culture of The Rock
We endeavor to be a modern, relevant, culturally diverse church. That means that you can expect wide variety of styles of music, a passionate message, and at every service there is an opportunity to receive Jesus as your personal savior. Some might call us noisy, but we’re just excited about Jesus and what he’s done in our lives.
Church etiquette
We place a high priority on the Word of God, and God is changing lives in this place. Because of that there is some etiquette that we ask you to follow in order to not disturb what God is doing. We ask that you turn off all cell phones, Bluetooth, or any noise-making devices while in service. We want people who come to The Rock to hear from God, not from your ringtone, as cool as it may be.
We also ask that you don’t get up and walk around during service (unless your children’s ministry pager goes off). If you need to leave early, we ask that you sit in the Leave Early section in the back of the sanctuary.
We also ask that there be no children under the age of 5 in the main sanctuary. We have a wonderful children’s ministry where your kids can be safe and have fun. If you don’t feel comfortable leaving your children, we ask that you use our Family Rooms. The Family Rooms are located on either side of the main sanctuary and allow you to see and hear the service without worrying about your children disrupting the service. Really, all we’re asking is that you have the same respect in church as you do in the movie theatre (so try not to spill popcorn on your neighbor).
