Dear Parents,
We are so blessed to be a part of ministering the Word of God to your children! It is indeed a joy to see how they light up when they come into our classrooms, so eager to learn what God has for them! To make our time together more safe and secure, I need to remind you of one of our policies for the Children’s Ministry:
Parents or Guardians must NOT leave campus after dropping their child off in class. We ask that you always be on campus in the event of an emergency. We strive to have a safe, learning environment for your children with the purpose in mind that you, as a parent also are able to be in the church service or attending one of the Rock Classes.
Usually, our parents do just that. However, there has been an increase of parents dropping off their children and then leaving campus, going to breakfast, going shopping, home, etc. when there are additional services required for your child to attend.
Here Is a Scenario
For example, RLC (Rockville Leadership Club) is having a class during the 9:00 service but you don’t want to come to church until the 11:00 service. So, you figure, “I’ll drop my child off, go home and get ready for church, then come back for 11:00 or 1:30 service.” If something were to happen and your child needed you, you would be nowhere to be found.
Changes Coming
Presently, for children in Nursery through 1st grades, a “pick-up” tag is printed along with their nametag at the check-in stations. A parent or teen must drop off and pick up a child in those areas. For the safety of your children, we will be soon including the “pick-up tag” feature for those in 2nd -4th grades also.
We are beginning new “Pre-Teen” class for children in grades 5 and 6. Those “older” children will be allowed to check them, elves in. However you will still need to pick them up as the policy is now.
Thank you so much for being aware of the seriousness of being on campus when your children are attending classes or events, and of the change in our pick-up policy. Again, thank you for giving our Children’s Ministry Team the great privilege to serve you and your children.
