I was born in Los Angeles, CA and moved to the Inland Empire at the age of 11. My upbringing is something I am so incredibly grateful for. I like to say that there is beauty in humble beginnings. As a daughter of two immigrants, I have fond memories of my youth. Whether we lacked or had plenty, there is something that always remained consistent in our home, my mother’s desire to pursue the things of God. Her faith helped shape, mold, and propel me to where I am today.
I was determined to make my parents dreams of a better future for their kids come true, and that I did. I married my high school sweetheart, became a nurse, had two children, and ventured into Orthopedic sales where I built a successful career. My greatest assignment and reward by far has been to raise our beautiful children; Selena and Mario Jr.
My faith has always been a part of my life, but I yearned for a deeper relationship with Christ. Thank goodness for our dear friend who invited us to The Rock back in 2008. I can still hear Pastor Jim’s voice resounding in my head saying, “Welcome Home!” We raised our beautiful children here, graduated from The Rock Bible College, and have served in the Children’s ministry alongside some of the greatest people on the planet. We are passionate about the word of God and building His Kingdom. It truly brings us great joy.
After 23 years of being in the medical field, my husband and I have officially retired to answer the call and join the pastoral team at The Rock where we will oversee the Children’s Ministry. To be called by God to serve as a Pastor is an honor, blessing, and great responsibility. There is no way to describe the joy that comes from knowing you’re right where God wants you to be.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. - Jeremiah 29:11
